They are living lives they would not choose. The only things I dont like is having an elephant (Nosey) and the pony rides. Show them its not worth it to bring him back so they stop booking him. The faire has plenty of great activities to enjoy.

It only brings bad press to the event, the protesters standing outside the gate take away from the ambiance, and they have to be losing money from the lack of attention to it inside.Īnyway, Im not here to complain about the elephant. I rarely saw people engaging with it, most likely because its obviously cruel, so I dont see why they keep bringing it back anyway. Theres no point in having the elephant there. That being said, I just wouldnt support the elephant ring itself. The elephant is one of hundreds of activities and vendors at the faire. I know a lot of people are upset about the elephant here and I agree that it is cruel, but the faire itself is an entertaining day and worth the trip. I had a great time and the price was acceptable. While all are different, like PA and NY, OHs faire offers nonstop live entertainment, built in stores with wares, and other fun activities. Ive been to Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New Yorks state renaissance faires and this one easily stands up to a few of those. It is in dire need of being pampered IMHO. Let it spend its days in a large zoo or a place with other elephants, being pampered and spoiled. It would be my hope that the managers of this fair discontinue this saddening display of such a gorgeous and regal creature. My only real complaint would the poor elephant that was confined to such a small space for the purposes of carrying people in a limited enclosure. But I would gladly pay again since it a once a year thing. The entrance fee was a bit on the high end for our family considering you had to pay for food and games and such. If you have the money, there are really beautiful arts and crafts for purchasing. Talented artisans were everywhere and the music and skits were very entertaining. Its not unusual to pay more at events and parks, so to me the prices of the food seemed ok. The food was decently priced and had a lot of variety. Wonderful atmosphere and overall it was a nice family event. The people are very nice (except the people assisting with parking.they were a bit rude), and they all stay in character. It really felt like being in another world. The venue is located about less than 1 1/2 hours from us. If anyone else has problems with them, let me know and we can try a class-action lawsuit. They are ridiculous and unprofessional, I am still trying to get my refund. I responded that I double checked the tickets and no mention of being only open weekends (it is on the website but not the ordering pages so it is not obvious).Īgain had to wait a few months, I tried emailing them every couple months and now almost one year later got some email from them in all caps saying to stop harassing them and there will be no refund! No name on it either, is it the mysterious "manager", who knows? So who is responding if they are not open? Its an email address, I seriously doubt they dont bother checking it until the next summer anyway. We finished up our vacation and I tried contacting them just a couple times politely and at first they kept saying I need to speak to the manager, then after a few months they started ignoring me, then I get some rude email 7 months later saying that there is no one there until summer and that I should have known they were only open weekends. So I drove all the way out there during the week and they were closed and said the manager is not in so cannot process a refund, but should not be a problem if I contact them later. Beware NO REFUNDS and very poor treatment! I ordered tickets for them online last summer (2013) and nowhere did it say on the tickets that they were only open weekends or on the ordering pages.
